Recently, the China Automobile Manufacturers Association's November data release conference was held in Beijing. The China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released monthly power battery data for October 2021. The total power battery output was 25.1GWh, an increase of 191.6% year-on-year.
Public information shows that in October this year, a total of 39 power battery companies in China's new energy vehicle market achieved complete vehicle listings, an increase of 2 over the same period last year. The installed capacity of the top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery companies were 11.6GWh, 12.9GWh and 14.3GWh, respectively, accounting for 75.5%, 83.6% and 92.9% of the total installed capacity.
Data shows that as of the latest, there are 5,060 patents directly related to lithium iron phosphate batteries in 126 countries or regions. From the perspective of patent application rankings, among 126 countries or regions in the world, South Korea’s LG Chem has the highest number of patent applications, and the number of patent applications directly related to lithium iron phosphate batteries reached 151. It is worth noting that there are many Chinese companies in the ranking of patent applications in this field. For example, Hefei Guoxuan Hi-Tech Power Energy Co., Ltd., although not a big company, unexpectedly reached 90 patent applications in this field, ranking second in this field. In addition, companies such as BYD and Toyota are also among the TOP 10 directly related patents in this field. At the school level, the pre-listed schools include Central South University and Tsinghua University in China. The number of patents of the two universities is 45 and 44 respectively.
